Think Ahead: Limited Parking, Big Crowd!

Planning to join us for SG60@Mel? Please note that parking around St Kilda Town Hall is extremely limited and will be even more challenging on the day due to the scale of the event. All-day parking is scarce and often fills up quickly.

We strongly encourage ticket holders to plan ahead and consider using public transport where possible. The venue is well-serviced by trams and trains, making it easy and stress-free to get there without the parking hassle. Whether you’re hopping on a tram or catching a train, you’ll arrive ready to celebrate — minus the parking drama!

Driving There

Most parking bays within a 5-minute walk of St Kilda Town Hall offer 1 to 2 hours of free parking, even on Saturdays.

For longer stays, consider parking along:

  • Brighton Road (use the service road, not Nepean Highway), just past St Kilda Town Hall
  • Tennyson Street, Dickens Street, Herbert Street, and Blessington Street – surrounding the St Kilda Botanical Gardens

Please observe all local parking signs and restrictions to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Taking Tram

Stop #36 – St Kilda Town Hall/Carlisle Street

Located right outside the venue – just hop off and walk straight in!

Tram routes that stop here:

  • Route 16 – from Melbourne University to Kew via St Kilda Beach
  • Route 3/3a – also stops at the same location as Route 16

Alternative option:

  • Route 67 – hop off at Stop #35, then take a short 5-minute walk to the Town Hall

All three tram lines are a great way to get to the event without the hassle of parking.

Taking Train

The closest train station to St Kilda Town Hall is Balaclava Station (Sandringham Line).

From there, it’s an 8-minute walk to the town hall, or you can hop on tram number 16 towards Melbourne University and hop off at Stop #36.
